Made To be Measured
The Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) is working to promote responsible drinking through its ‘Made to Be Measured’ campaign, which aims to encourage whisky drinkers to savour their Scotch.
They hosted an event recently with member companies of the SWA to open the discussion on what can be done to ensure responsible drinking is always encouraged in communications with consumers. The GlenAllachie was invited to be one of eight panel members to participate in the discussion alongside other Scotch Whisky brands such as The Macallan, Glenmorangie and Johnnie Walker. Our Digital Marketing Manager was in attendance as the representative of The GlenAllachie.
The discussion examined the barriers, challenges and opportunities surrounding responsible drinking at all touchpoints, including trade shows, distillery experiences and online activities. The day was incredibly insightful and essential to achieving the balance in enjoying your Scotch. We are committed to promoting responsible drinking and implementing the tools provided by the SWA so that our consumers savour our Scotch whisky slowly and in moderation.
Here is The GlenAllachie’s advice on responsible drinking:
- Sip and savour your Scotch. Slowing down your consumption of our whiskies will help you fully appreciate the intricate flavour profile of our premium spirit.
- Ensure that you have water breaks when tasting different whiskies. This also helps you cleanse your palate when trying more than one type of whisky.
- Enjoy your whisky with food. Our whiskies pair beautifully with different dishes and cuisines.
- Know your limit. A single measure of Scotch (25ml) contains 1 unit of alcohol. It’s recommended that you do not regularly exceed 14 units of alcohol a week.
