International Sherry Week is officially in full swing, and there’s no better time to reflect on how sherry has shaped The GlenAllachie’s signature profile. At our Speyside distillery, sherry is a cornerstone of everything we do, from our core range to experimental cask explorations.

A Core Range Steeped in Sherry

Walk through any tasting of our core whiskies and you’ll notice it immediately: The GlenAllachie’s signature sherry-forward profile. Rich Oloroso and luxurious Pedro Ximénez, and other carefully selected casks infuse our whiskies with dark fruits, warm spices and that velvety sweetness whisky lovers crave. It’s a style that’s instantly recognisable, a balance of elegance and intensity perfected under the watchful eye of Master Distiller Billy Walker.

Our core range opens with the 10-year-old Cask Strength and 12-year-old expressions – both honoured as World’s Best Single Malt by the World Whiskies Awards in 2021 and 2025 respectively. These are followed by our aptly named ‘Sherry Bomb’ 15-year-old and the deeply rich, sherry-forward 18-year-old.

The Sherry Series: Discovering Diversity

We don’t stop at the familiar. Our Sherry Series is an exploration of the breadth of sherry cask influence. From crisp, delicate Fino to nutty, complex Oloroso and the layered elegance of Amontillado, each 9-year-old expression adds a new voice to our whisky story.
