Reduced Production
When we acquired the distillery in 2017, we cut production from four million to one million litres of alcohol (LOA). This deliberate decision significantly lowered energy use and allowed us to focus on quality over quantity.

On-site Warehousing
With 16 warehouses on site, our casks are matured without haulage, reducing emissions and keeping our whisky rooted in Speyside.

Mechanical Vapour Recompression (MVR)

Cutting-Edge Distillation Efficiency
Our pioneering MVR system captures and reuses waste heat from the stillhouse, cutting energy use in wash distillation by more than 50% – the equivalent of powering ~825 homes annually.

• Enables switch from gas to renewable electricity

• Low maintenance design with fewer moving parts

• Retains vital copper contact for spirit quality

Biodiversity

Beehives at the Distillery
We maintain three hives across our estate — beside the solar panels, in a barrel park, and at our water source. These hives strengthen local ecosystems by supporting native pollinators and boosting biodiversity.

Hive success varies with location: those near wildflower-rich areas thrive, showing how vital natural habitats are to pollinator health. We now leave honey for the bees to sustain themselves through winter, a small step that reflects our belief that every part of the environment, from source to sky, matters.
