At The GlenAllachie, we continue to use our original Porteous mill, installed in 1967, producing 9.4 tones of grist with every mash. Renowned for its remarkable reliability, the Porteous mill became a quiet legend in the industry, so durable that the company itself ceased trading, as repairs and replacements were simply never needed. Decades on, our mill remains a steadfast part of our whisky making process.

The GlenAllachie 10-year-old Batch 12 Cask Strength was elevated through maturation in Pedro Ximénez & Oloroso Sherry, red wine and virgin oak casks. You can expect notes of mocha, fig syrup and toasted hazelnuts, with honeycomb, dried red berries and a touch of molasses tart.

As a traditional unpeated distillery, the malted barley used for The GlenAllachie is sourced from local producers based in the Moray Firth coast. We use the original Porteus mill, installed in 1967, to produce 9.4 tonnes of ground malt barley ‘grist’ for every mash.

We carefully source exceptional casks worldwide, from rare virgin oaks to wine barriques and sherry casks, working with trusted coopers and bodegas to select only the finest wood to shape our whisky’s character.
